Here, I’ve listed five basic tips to help you work on yourself during the initial stages of overcoming grief. How to Overcome Grief 1. Accept the Reality It’s really, really hard, but accepting reality is necessary to move forward. If you don’t accept it, you can’t heal. Give yourself time to realize and accept the truth — it doesn’t happen overnight. 2. Find a Non-Judgmental Network We all need people to share our feelings and experiences with. It’s important to have a supportive, non-judgmental group of friends. If you can talk to 3–4 friends, you’re lucky! Having more people to lean on helps balance things out when some are busy, which can prevent negative feelings from building up. 3.
