Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Technology
The future in the IT world. Everyone must know the basics of AI technology. So I'm going to explain in simple words
What is AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is any computer program that mimics and performs tasks that normally require human intelligence. The good and bad thing about AI is that you cannot understand it or use it for practical purposes. It can understand complex human language and calculate complicated mathematical equations in seconds. It can detect patterns, analyze messages and predict and explain events. I will use Xmas day as an example to illustrate the good, bad, and ugly of artificial intelligence. A couple of days ago, AI machines were able to perform a complex mathematical equation like 77 x 17. It would be very difficult to explain the science behind this equation to the common man. The only people who can understand the maths would-be programmers.
What is the future of AI?
AI will be the key to any information revolution and will be the primary driver of new businesses, products, and experiences. We already see it coming into all areas of business from retail, finance, transportation, and healthcare. As computing power increases and becomes more accessible to consumers, AI will see huge adoption in the areas of both consumer and business applications. AI has the potential to upend industries, change lives, and enrich the lives of people across the globe. For example, Self-driving cars will soon change the way we travel. AI will be the defining technology of the next two decades and it will be a driving force behind innovation and consumer experience.
What does AI mean for the future?
What does AI mean for the future? When this segment came up for the panel, I immediately realized that many of the listeners were very aware of the technology and some even knew what AI meant. There was, however, no consensus on what AI is and what it could mean for the future. So I proceeded to describe the technology in basic terms. I will let you take a look at my presentation below. How is AI progressing?
In 2017, most of the major tech firms started to focus on AI because of the immense opportunity that it offers. But the hype around AI was not created overnight. Last year, the creation of three major companies – Google, Facebook, and Microsoft – with a market value of $600 billion that offer impressive AI-based products, is a great boost for the industry. Google announced its voice assistant, which is a subsidiary of its search engine giant, as Google Duplex, a virtual assistant that can conduct a phone conversation naturally, complete with fake human intonations and pauses. This is the first time an AI-based assistant will test how much people would trust its humanly sounding voice.
How is AI impacting the world?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the hottest fields in the IT world right now. Every IT leader and computer scientist is trying to come up with amazing apps and devices that help humans be more productive, save time, and just be more comfortable. What separates these projects from the rest? The amount of money being thrown around. AI has become one of the fastest-growing technology markets in the world. Each week, new start-ups and corporations announce new AI products and solutions. The space is vast and it is estimated that the global market for AI devices will reach almost $80 billion by 2020. There are various AI product and solution providers, some are big tech companies, such as Facebook and Google, and others are startups like IBM and Microsoft.
Conclusion
AI is still evolving in the IT world. But the usage of Artificial Intelligence in the industry is increasing rapidly. We'll see the next AI wave in a couple of years. What are the implications of AI in the IT industry AI technology has changed our lives in the last few years. We can get all sorts of services on our phones from some 20 bots. We can play games with electronic devices and gadgets, and we can run virtual reality systems without any problems. The computers can also now learn new tricks, by themselves. Many areas in the IT industry have already been made easier. There are a lot of simple tasks that people do every day that AI can now do. Such as the search for medical information and medication, using your phone or your computer.
