My Journey with Uki

In November 2020, I applied for the Yarl IT Hub – Uki Full Stack Web Development course. For someone like me, who was not in a position to invest a significant amount of money in pursuing another program, Uki presented itself as an incredible opportunity.

Some of my friends had completed the same Uki Full Stack Web Development course the previous year and were now working in leading companies. It was their encouragement that motivated me to apply.

I was fortunate to receive a full scholarship and began the 5-month online course in December 2020. Through this intensive program, we gained substantial knowledge in technical concepts, software development, and essential personal development skills within a short time frame.

In today’s socio-economic context, along with food, clothing, and shelter, education and employment that align with one’s skills and aspirations have become fundamental needs. For those with determination and a passion for excelling in the field of information and communication technology, this program is a golden opportunity.

People often say, “Opportunities must be created.” Personally, I have made the best use of every opportunity that came my way.

Being an online course, we couldn’t experience some of the typical Uki activities. However, the COVID-19 situation in the country enabled us to dedicate our full time to learning. I must mention that our instructor, Brindha Miss, was an immense source of support. Conducting online classes brought its own set of challenges, unlike traditional classroom settings.

We faced numerous obstacles, including health issues, mental stress, power outages, internet connectivity problems, and technical glitches with our devices. Despite these hurdles, the unwavering support from our teachers played a pivotal role in our successful completion of this program.

They provided exceptional guidance regarding our future plans and career opportunities and continue to mentor us. Completing this course successfully opens up the chance to participate in interviews at leading software companies.

This program is truly a gateway to our future. Education and effort never fail us, and I firmly believe that with quality education, we can shine as an advanced society in the future.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Yarl IT Hub team for offering us this opportunity to continue this course on a full scholarship based on our skills and academic standards. Yarl IT Hub has significantly contributed to the education of Northern students for over ten years, and their support is deeply appreciated.

UI/UX Introduction - What I learned

Usually, I play with some of the cardboard waste and make a computer screen and keyboard out of it.  After I got a good score in my O/Level exams, my father asked, "What do you want as a gift?" And I said I wanted a laptop. Then he purchased me an HP laptop. It was the best gift ever; I got it after a long wait. Later, I became familiar with basic computer skills slowly and started exploring the world through technology. Then, I chose IT as my career path eventually.
